Marie-Stella-Maris is proud to be B Corp certified! This means we meet the highest standards for social and environmental impact. But this is only the next step in our journey. We continue to evolve and constantly strive for even more improvements to increase our positive impact. Learn more about how we are making this happen with our partners and customers!
What is B Corp?
B Corp (Benefit Corporation) is a global movement of companies that truly want to make a difference. The B Corp certificate is awarded to companies that excel in social and environmental performance, responsibility and transparency. In the Benelux, 420 companies have already received this beautiful recognition.
The path to B Corp certification is quite intensive. It includes a rigorous impact assessment that takes about a year. To be certified, a company must score at least 80 out of 200 points. The average score of a B Corp-certified company is 83.7 points.
We are super proud that Marie-Stella-Maris achieved an initial score of 91 points ! This is a great affirmation of our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. We are determined to continuously improve and realize positive impact.

Clean Beauty
All of our body care products are produced in the Netherlands and consist of at least 96% ingredients of natural origin.
Eleven products are formulated with upcycled ingredients. These are residual streams from other production processes that would otherwise go to waste, but are now given new life as re-ingredients in our body care products. These include upcycled prickly pear oil in our Dry Body Oil and upcycled tomato seed oil in our Concentrated Hair Care.
Our skin care products are always 100% vegan and free of parabens, silicones, microplastics and the polluting sulfates SLS and SLES. This is how we contribute to healthy skin and keep our waters clean.
Refill
Less is More
Our glass bottles are produced in Europe and are reusable and refillable. Since 2022, glass bottles are 30% lighter in weight than their predecessors, resulting in material savings and lower CO2 emissions in transportation and production.
With our sustainable refill packaging and our Refill Bar in our stores, we make refilling products easy and accessible. Refilling saves waste because you don't have to buy a new bottle every time.
Our collection includes 103 products, 73% of which are refillable at our Store & Refill Stations at a discounted price. We also offer refill packs for 48 products that you can order both in-store, at resellers and online.

Clean Water for All
From the beginning, our social mission has been our driving force: access to clean water and hygiene for all. With every purchase you make, you directly contribute to this mission.
Each year, we structurally donate a share of our revenue to sustainable water projects, complemented by additional initiatives such as special campaigns and limited editions.
Together, this has enabled us to help more than 145,000 people gain access to clean and safe drinking water, and we continue to grow our impact worldwide.
