Mother & Daughter

Anouk & Finette

What connects you?

Finette: ''We’re both super energetic. We always look forward to the day with a positive attitude. And you are the first person I want to tell things to. You are always on speed dial, someone I can call immediately. Even little things get shared in our chats.

Which scent brings you back to a special moment together?

Anouk: ''One of my favorite scents is No.12 Objets d’Amsterdam. I love it; we have it in the shower and use it every day. But also No.07 Voyage Vétiver—it’s more beachy. As a family, we love spending our holidays at the coast and doing water sports. It gives me strong summer vibes, and that’s when our family is at its best.''

Mother & Son

Celeste & Blaze

What does Love to Give mean to you?

Celeste: ''Unconditional love. I always dreamed of becoming a mother, but I never saw it as something to be taken for granted, and I still don’t. That’s why I am incredibly grateful to be a mother. It is the most selfless job you can have. It is both the hardest and the most beautiful thing I have ever done so far.''

Mother & Son

William & Donna

What connects you?

William: ''We are both very handy and enjoy crafting and doing projects. My mother is quite handy—she crafts all kinds of things, like lamps, jewelry, even a skate ramp when I was younger. She once restored a moped! That really stuck with me. And now I am doing the same handy crafts for my daughter.''

What does Love to Give mean to you?

Donna: ''That you want to do anything for someone else.''

William: ''Being able to give unconditional love, just doing things for each other with love.''

Mother & Daughter

Gisele & Afsaneh

What does Love to Give mean to you?

Gisele: ''Because we came from a situation where we had to build everything from scratch, all three of us have been giving back to others from a young age. We value sharing our happiness with everyone—it’s deeply ingrained in us as a family.''

What scent brings you back to a special moment together?

Gisele: ''Courage de Bois—it fits well with where I live. I have the scented candles and fragrance sticks in the Courage de Bois scent, and I love them because they are very refined and remind me of the nature surrounding my home. I always have them on when my mom visits me to drink a cup of coffee and chat together.''

Mother & Son

Mathias & Margriet

When do you recognize yourself in them?

Margriet: ‘’The things I taught him, certain sayings of mine that he adopts. He uses a lot of sayings like me.‘’

Matthias: ‘’The fighting spirit she has, I also got it from her. Not giving up, going for your goals. A very strong woman is standing here now.‘’

What does Love to Give mean to you?

Matthias: "That I am always there for her."

Margriet: "The same with me. Just always being there for your child, helping and supporting if there is something wrong."

Chosen Mother & Daughter

Annemieke & Desiree

What connects you?

Annemieke: ''Even though Desiree is not my actual daughter, I truly feel a strong connection to Desiree. It has to do with the way she carries herself in life, the choices she makes, and how she cares for others. She has a beautiful profession—she’s a midwife, which makes her very people-oriented.''

Desiree: ''I think what connects us is the way we both see life, how we look at people, and what we find important. I think we can truly call it a soul connection.''

Even though you're not actually mother and daughter, how did this connection come to be?

Desiree: ''I met Annemiek on the street with Amigo, her little dog. I thought, “What a lovely woman.” My son Lukas was about a year old, and I thought, “She would be the perfect babysitter.” So, we put up a flyer in the garage, hoping she would respond. I think she hesitated, thinking, “I’m not a mother, I have no experience, they probably won’t find me suitable.” But for us, she was exactly what we were looking for. From the moment we spoke, we felt we were soulmates. There’s a big age difference between us, but we share a deep connection.

Annemiek: ''The funny part was that you were looking for someone to take care of your little boy now and then. I don’t have children, and I’ve often experienced people assuming that if you don’t have kids yourself, you can’t take care of them. But as a teacher, I have always been surrounded by children. It’s a strong prejudice that people have. Still, I decided to meet with you because I felt you should know who I am, and it turned out to be a perfect match. We lived in the same apartment building back then, which is how we met in the garage. Now, we have a true, warm friendship.''

Mother & Son

Alyt & Dante

What does Love to Give mean to you?

Alyt: ''Love to give means to me that I get energy or at least a good feeling from giving something to someone else. Making someone happy with something beautiful also makes you happy.''

How has motherhood changed you?

Alyt: ''It’s still early, our baby is only three months old. But it's all the beautiful moments, every day you get happy just by looking at him and seeing things of yourself in him, and that is simply one of the most valuable things in my life.''
