What it means Love to Give means to you?

Celeste: ''The unconditional love. I always had the dream of becoming a mother but I didn't see it as something self-evident, and still do, so I am therefore very grateful to be a mother. It is the most "selfless" job you can have, it is at the same time the hardest but also the most beautiful thing I have ever done. It's very all-encompassing.''

What it means Love to Give means to you?

Gisele: ''Because we ourselves came from a situation where we had to build everything from scratch, all three of us started giving back to other people from an early age. We value sharing our own happiness with everyone, that is very strong in us as a family and family.''

What fragrance brings you back to a special moment together?

Gisele:''Courage de Bois. I live in the forest, and this scent fits perfectly. I have the scented candles and scented sticks and I really like it because it is very sophisticated. I also always have this one on when my mother is visiting me to have coffee and chat.''

What connects you?

Annemieke: ''Even though Desiree is not my real daughter, I really consider her a close friend. That has to do with how she is in life. How she makes choices and how she cares for others. She has a wonderful profession, she is a midwife. Then you are also very people-oriented."

Desiree: ''I think what connects us is how we both stand in life, how we look at people and what we think is important, I think we can really see that as soul relationship.''

You are not mother and daughter. So how did that relationship come about?

Desiree: ''I met Annemieke on the street with Amigo, the little dog. I thought what a nice woman this is. Lukas, my son, was just one year old at the time, and I thought, this would be my ideal babysitter. Then we had hung a flyer in the garage of our apartment complex hoping she would respond. And she had! The moment we started talking to each other we felt we were soul mates. There's a big age difference between us but we do feel kindred spirits.''

Annemieke: ''The beautiful thing was that she asked for someone to take care of her little son now and then. I don't have children unfortunately and my experience is that people very often think that if you don't have children of your own, you can't take care of children. Whereas I was actually surrounded with children endlessly because I was a teacher. It's a prejudice that is very much alive. Hence, I thought, let me talk anyway. We were living in the same apartment building at the time so it's why we also ran into each other in the garage. Eventually a real, warm friendship developed out of it.''
